Hi, friend!

I am an Arizona photographer in the midst of chasing simplicity + sunlight.

Shall we chase it together?

1 Year Anniversary - The Hoffmans

1 Year Anniversary - The Hoffmans

Love is obvious between these two.

However, it was not always. Below is an innocent, pre-dating (and quite short) exchange of words when a young Jenny requested Jared’s presence to frequent the house where she and his sister were roommates.

Jenny thought she was so crafty - luring her crush in with a casual, hint-hint.
Jared just thought she was asking an inconvenient question.

Note: Jenny's statement is blue, Jared's clueless response appears in grey.

Eventually Jared did get the hint and asked her to marry him less than a year later...

“He is a quick learner,” some might say.
“He always forgets to turn on the crock pot,” Jenny would say.

The Hoffmans are a lovely couple. Jenny is an excellent cook and Jared is a darn good drummer. Their devout love for the Lord and for each other shines out of their face like sunbeams – which is why they always look lovely (that is half a Roald Dahl quote).

I am lucky to not only have these two as clients but as friends as well. Daniel and I met them in our pre-marital counseling class at church and we hit it off instantly. With their witty humor and our impeccable comedic timing, we were a hoot! Yet, no one was as entertained by us as us.
On our first scheduled double date at the Hoffmans, Daniel and I overslept by AN HOUR AND 20 MINUTES. Daniel and I officially dubbed ourselves as the worst friends ever. It was Saint Patrick’s Day and because the Hoffmans are as corny as corn on the cob, they dyed everything green. The barbeque, the beer, the juice, everything. It was adorable. When we finally showed up at their house, with our heads hung low in shame, they both greeted us at their door with big smiles and green shirts. Not even an ounce mad – regardless of the fact that we subconsciously chose sleep over socializing. That is friendship. (Don’t worry, Jared got us back by “accidently” dropping my freshly grilled patty on the sidewalk).

Jared and Jenny (seriously, doesn't their names just ring effortlessly?) celebrated their 1-year wedding anniversary in May. They scheduled a photo shoot for this new time in their life (and for Christmas cards too!). We had such a fun evening with them – as per usual. Between Jenny’s dimples and Jared’s smile, it is hard not to find yourself smiling at these photos too!
