Hi, friend!

I am an Arizona photographer in the midst of chasing simplicity + sunlight.

Shall we chase it together?

U for Unity - Amanda and Joseph's Intimate Ceremony

U for Unity - Amanda and Joseph's Intimate Ceremony

There is something so simple, romantic, and ethereal to intimate weddings. Not everyone you encountered in your life are there – just the impactful ones. The friends that turned into family and the family that never left your side. You feel your most comfortable, your most safe.

There is a certain magical buzz in the air when love is united under God and in front of your loved ones. Tears are both blinked back and shed forth. Hands are held. Best dresses worn and hair combed. Flowers are vibrant with both pigment and fragrance. Candles are lit with the promise of forever. Aisles are adorned, walks are made, and people are blessed. Love is beautiful and it is a blessing to all who witness.

One of my favorite moments in a wedding ceremony is to see which uniting demonstration a couple chooses to represent their bond. During this ceremony, Amanda and Joseph decided on the unity candle. Amanda lit her candle on the left, Joseph the right, and their daughter Claira brought light to the pillar in the middle – bringing the three of them together. Claira then turned to her Nana and she began lighting each candle that the guests held – bringing all of the guests in the room together.

That’s what life is about isn’t it? Being together? God never created us to be alone. The weight of this world is heavy enough on our shoulders – that’s why we need someone to give us back rubs and balance. We cannot do it all ourselves.

How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity – Psalm 133:1
